- Personal introduction, phonetic alphabet and numbers for spelling, abbreviated styles, abbreviations and acronyms, dates and time, Italian words in English, how to interact with foreigners
- How to write a letter, standard operating procedure and examples. Word order. How to read codes and pieces of information, the news.
- Don’t say it! 130 common mistakes. Practical English usage in everyday situations. Social language: greetings, asking about the health, small talks, getting people’s attention, apologies, asking people to repeat, journeys, holidays, meals, sending good wishes, sympathy, invitations and visits, offers and replies, asking for things, handing over things, thanks
- Sentence structure: affirmatives, negatives, questions. Articles. Personal and relative pronouns. Possessives. Prepositions and conjunctions. Adjectives and adverbs. Comparatives and superlatives. Countable and uncountable nouns. Irregular verbs.
- Permanent situations, things that happen regularly, series of events, instructions, stories, talking about the future: the simple present
- Temporary continuing actions and events going on now or around now, changes, repeated actions, talking about the future: the present progressive
- Finished events connected with the present, time words, repetition up to now, continuation up to now, thinking about past and present together, actions and situations that have just stopped: the present perfect simple and continuous
